It has been a long while since I visited the Singapore Zoo. It was refreshing to see animals roaming in their in-built habitat and not confined in cages. There are entertaining animal performances at various timings. There is a "rainforest kidzworld" for children and the young at heart.
Some enclosures allow visitors to roam around with tame animals like ducks, civet cats, butterflies and even get close-up view of fruit bats. Just try to make sure you do not have stowaways when you exit the enclosure.

Wild animals at Singapore Zoo |
This is not a safari in some exotic countries. You can get decent photos of wild animals (as if you are in a safari) on a good day here. You can pose near these animals, although you will not be able to stroke them with your bare hands.
I visited the Zoo on the same day I visited River Safari (above post), which is next to the Zoo.
